On 20 January, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America. The ceremony will be held in Washington DC, but has been mired in controversy amid protests and marches.
It has been reported that anti-Trump protests are going to be held worldwide, with a Women’s Rights march predicted to gather at least 200,000 people in Washington on 21 January. It is believed to be one of the biggest anti-inauguration marches that America has seen in its history. What’s more, at least 26 protest groups are seeking or have been granted permits to demonstrate before, during and after Trump’s inauguration. This is four times the average number permitted for past inaugurations, according to USA Today.
A man from California is the latest individual to demonstrate against the inauguration of Donald Trump. Reports suggest that he attempted to set himself alight outside one of Trump’s hotels to protest the incumbent President’s inauguration.
